My Approach

You have strengths and potential in addition to the problems that brought you to coaching. At the same time, most people reach out for coaching when they are stuck or in need of an objective sounding board. We address your concerns as they arise and allowing our work together to proceed at a pace that feels right for you—sometimes that is 3 sessions, sometimes 6-12 months. In the context of a collaborative partnership, I'll help you connect with your inner resources and wisdom so that you can make positive, lasting changes in your life.

My theoretical framework, which organizes how I understand the mind, by applied behavioral science, industrial and organizational psychology, and principles of sustainability. At their essence, these theoretical perspectives are about effective decision making when it counts. They each shine the light on the gap between our lived and aspirational values, helping us avoid wrong turns and remain connected to the red thread of our core interests throughout our lives.

I draw on techniques from a variety of disciplines, depending on what fits your needs. For example, cognitive-behavioral techniques are highly effective for managing tension. Mindfulness and reflection techniques can help you slow down and see more clearly what makes certain situations challenging or difficult.

My experience as a manager and leader of corporate initiatives giveS me a deep empathy for my clients’ experiences and the dilemmas they face.

The First Session

The best way to know if I'm the right coach for you is for us to meet. The first session is a chance for you to tell me what brings you to coaching and for me to explain how I would see us working together. It's an opportunity for you to get a sense of what it might be like to work with me and to ask me any questions you may have about the coaching process. It's my intention that this first session will give you the information you need to make an informed choice about what I hope will be the beginning of your reflective practice.

What to Expect

You and I will work together to explore how you experience your environment, finding the places where you feel stuck, and discovering ways for you to live more authentically. We'll develop strategies for managing tension and other disruptive behaviors and explore the assumptions, snags, and core beliefs underlying them so that a variety of new choices come into view about how you might proceed.
